Bemerkung |
The seminar provides a comprehensive and hands-on introduction to effectively prepare, conduct, and analyze qualitative interviews. We will offer an in-depth understanding of diverse interview types and their relevance to theoretical frameworks and research questions, taking into account their epistemological and methodological foundations. The primary objective of the seminar is to equip you with the necessary skills to undertake your qualitative interview project successfully or enhance your existing skills in this area. During the seminar, we will focus on creating interview guidelines, practicing interview techniques, and exploring various methods of interpretation.
The main part of the seminar will focus on
- Practical steps for generating interview data
- Conducting qualitative interviews
- Processing the interview data
- Distinguishing different types of interviews and analysis
The participants will familiarize themselves with relevant literature in the field, do exercises on interviewing techniques, and work on their own project. The seminar will give you a profound understanding of the practical steps and decisions that have to be made at various junctures in the generation of qualitative interview data.
Preparation for the course
It is expected that you will read the seminar literature prior to attending. Additionally, we encourage you to consider your own interview research project and potential interview topics in advance of the block seminar. If you have already created an interview guide, please send it to us. This will provide you with the opportunity to refine and discuss your guide during the workshop.
