Assessment is more than just collecting data for grading. It also serves teaching supporting the learning process by providing feedback on students’ learning, language growth and competences. Since research and practice have given evidence that all learners learn differently, different ways of assessment and assessment practices are necessary. This applies even more for young learners at primary level. Aims of this seminar are to provide methods and activities that will meet the needs of the individual learner, show different kinds of classroom organization, present ways of creating a positive learning environment and to introduce traditional and alternative ways of assessment (e.g. the portfolio). Therefore this seminar will be not only provide you with analytical skill you might need to assess the learner’s need, but will prepare you for using a variety of methods. |
