Modern communicative English Language Teaching is directly tied to creating a competence-oriented classroom environment: our learners advance from one proficiency level to the next and, thereby, increase their competence level. Simply speaking, teachers help their learners in mastering more and more "can-do-statements". How does this influence our plan and design of units, lessons and activities? What are the methodological tools we employ in our teaching? And, what is our role as teachers in a competence-oriented setting? These are the kind of questions we will all actively explore and reflect in the course of this seminar. |
