This class provides an overview of digital genres found in socio-technically diverse online environments. Based on an overview of different models and research approaches, we will explore a variety of digital genres, ranging from more traditional, text-based types to more recent, increasingly multimodal genre trends found on participatory social media.
Please note that this course will consist of a reduced number of regular sessions, a guest lecture and a workshop (taking place in calendar week 23).
The guest lecture and the workshop will be held by Prof. Camilla Vasquez (University of South Florida), an internationally renowned expert in digital discourse. In the lecture, Prof. Vasquez will present her research on "Narrativity in Online Reviews", in the workshop we will explore "Digital Storytelling and Food Genres" together. |
