Freie Übung Mittelalter ab dem 3. Fachsemester
In der Übung wird ein Überblick über die Quellen des Mittelalters gegeben und in die kritische historische Methode eingeführt. In gemeinsamer Lektüre und Diskussion werden darüber hinaus ausgewählte Quellen erarbeitet. Gegenstand sind Quellen zu den verschiedenen Häresien, den Protagonisten und Anhängern, den Weltbildern, Lehren und Lebensformen sowie den Reaktionen der kirchlichen Amtsträger und deren Verfahrensweisen.
Die Übung findet am 23.05. und 24.05.25 statt

Freie Übung Mittelalter ab dem 3. Fachsemester
This course offers an introduction to the politics and culture of the Kingdom of Bohemia during the rule of the Luxembourg dynasty (1310–1437), with particular attention to the reign of Emperor Charles IV (r. 1346–1378). The course is divided into two parts: the first weeks provide foundational lectures with a traditional chronological approach; these are followed by a series of thematic lectures, spotlighting topics including queens, saints, Czech literature, and art. Students will enrich their understanding of the topic and of the historian’s craft by reading passages from the Vita Caroli (the autobiography of Charles IV), which will be discussed in greater depth as a group. These readings will be supplemented by other visual and literary sources.
