Bemerkung

From a content perspective, the aim of this seminar is to explore some of the key aspects of Africa´s involvement in the global arena on the one hand and interactions among individual states within the continent on the other. As such the seminar is divided into two thematic areas. The first, which is tagged “Africa in Global Affairs” explores Africa´s agency in key global issues including issues of representation and reform in the UN system, responses to geopolitical conflicts, climate negotiations and global health governance. The second theme explores the internal dynamics of African affairs with a central focus on the idea of “African solutions to African problems”. Hence it examines how individual African state actors and regional organisations have been driving key developments in areas of peace and security, political stability, democracy promotion, and economic integration within the African continent.
