Bilingualer Unterricht—more precisely referred to as CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning)—is based on the idea of teaching academic school subjects (such as Biology, Geography, or History) through a foreign language, typically English. This approach is widely regarded as reflecting key principles of modern English language teaching.
This course begins with an overview of CLIL models and the various types of CLIL programmes implemented in different educational contexts. We will then examine the central pedagogical principles underlying CLIL instruction, including key considerations in materials design for bilingual teaching.
The seminar also includes a practical part: you will have the opportunity to apply what you have learned by developing and trying out your own CLIL-based teaching ideas and materials. |
