Urban Systems and their Transformation in Economic, Cultural and Ecologic Aspects - Einzelansicht

The Institute of Geography is pleased to welcome Prof. Dr. Tigran Sargsyan as a guest-lecturer within the framework of the University’s international guest-lecturer- programme and financial support from the Akademisches Auslandsamt in Janurary 2019. Therefore, the Institute of Geography offers an additional seminar in the field of urban geography.  Prof. Dr. Tigran Sargsyan, Yerevan State University, Yerevan/Armenia, Faculty of Georgraphy is known for his highly professional expertise in transformationprocesses in global urban- and economical geography.

The blockcourse focusses on the diverse transformationprocesses in urban spaces in the southern Kaukasus in consideration of global developments.

Since the End of the USSR and the following independence from Russia, which fostered revolutionary processes, many capital cities in the region are facing challenging urban developments.

Aspects of Urban Governance and Sustainabilityresearch as well as the economy of transformation will be topics for presentations and discussions.
